There are now two buffoons with recording equipment, laughing at themselves in my cellar…

O peerage, like you, most of my electronic correspondence is banished to the cyber wastes before my eyes ever rest upon it. This includes contact from all parties, including the AICPA, the PCAOB, the IASB and the FASB. I interpret a letter, printed on pressed fiber and housed in an envelope of like design, as a sincere attempt at intercommunication. So, when flipping through my posts received, I noticed, merely by touch, an envelope of low wood pulp content. The return address was marked only:

JTRGFRR

Norwalk, CT

I opened the letter and a wave of unease passed over me as I read the first line:

Please note, this paper was expensive.

I had been manipulated. Simply put, the letter had been disguised by the FASB to recruit my talents… The paper was of excellent make and crafted by a guild whose watermark was foreign to me. My interest was peaked, momentarily, but I knew that the Joint Transition Resource Group For Revenue Recognition, was nothing more than a band of incontinent has-beens ramrodding an outdated perspective into an era of agility. New paper, from new artisans, and yet, no new desire, on my part, to participate is a doomed enterprise. Only a curiosity to uncover the creator of this fine medium.

In other news, word reached my desk of two gentlemen yearning to resurrect, like unto Lazarus of Bethany, the now defunct and former beacon of modern accountancy: Choadzey, Marbles & Schaftmann. The remaining partner group of said firm, the few that still draw breath, have assigned me as steward of their concern. I have received these two noble-minded dreamers in my home and endured many an encounter, fielding question after question, to satisfy my charge. After entertaining,  dining, delving through crates of bottles, recounting tales and constructing an amitié, these two men have been deemed adequate to re-kindle the fire and march forward bearing the glorious standard of Choadzey, Marbles & Schaftmann.

They look to make record of their adventure and plan to podcast this record for the curious in our midst. I will provide this site as a locale for their recordings to find lieu. I will grant them access to the perfect acoustics found in my cellar and the bottles of Armagnac also housed therein.
